Unknown Impact
Two nights ago, I put Judah to bed and began to pray with him like we do every night. He loves prayer time and names everyone he can think of to thank Jesus for and uses "Pray again!" as the Christian version of "I have to go to the bathroom" to prevent bedtime. I asked him if he wanted to repeat the Bible verse I always pray over him, and as I began to say it, I realized he was saying it by heart without my help! The verse is, "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone O Lord make me dwell in safety." He said it more along the lines of "Lie down, sleep peace, alone Lord, dwell saftey, amen." I was encouraged and reminded that even when routine sets in and I am tired or my focus is off, what I do and say is shaping my children...I love that even two year olds can understand spiritual things. My prayer is that Judah and Creed experience Jesus in their lives at a young age...but for now, the basics are becoming the foundation for that experience.
